Speaker Biographies

Sue Merk, VP Product Management and Business Development, OneHealthPort

Sue Merk is the Vice President of Business Development and Product Management for OneHealthPort. She is responsible for the product selection, implementation and operations of the HIE. For the past eight years, Sue has managed OHP’s technology and operations.

Prior to joining OneHealthPort, she served in a number of technology and operational roles. Sue is also a registered pharmacist and practiced for twenty years in various clinical settings.

Scott Carrell, Executive Director, IHDE

Scott was recently named Executive Director for the Idaho Health Data Exchange.

Before taking this position, Scott was one of the founding board members of both the Idaho Quality Planning Commission and the Idaho Health Data Exchange. The Idaho Health Data Exchange is a non-profit organization charged with the development and implementation of a statewide health information exchange in Idaho and the state designated entity for HIE funding in Idaho.

Before taking this leadership role at IHDE, Scott was past chair for the Employer’s Health Coalition of Idaho (EHCI). He also managed benefit and retirement programs during the last 10+ years for Idaho Power, MPC Computers, Gores Technology and Fujitsu America, Inc.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (emphasis in Finance) from California State University, Chico and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (in the healthcare cohort) from Northwest Nazarene University.
