Professional Background
Helen is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years in healthcare, having practiced in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as public health. In addition to her experience in clinical practice, she has worked in various capacities effecting changes in healthcare systems to enhance the health of populations. With WIREC, she continues that endeavor, consulting with healthcare providers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare.

Motivation
 “I do what I do because of my father, who experienced needless suffering in his final months caused by fragmentation and deficiencies in our current healthcare system. EHRs have the capacity to dramatically improve the effectiveness of healthcare by improving safety, supporting clinical decision-making, and enhancing the coordination of care across settings. However, incorporation of this technology into clinical practice is challenging and many implementations fail to fully achieve these improvements. With WIREC, I appreciate being in a position to guide clinics in successful transformation as they embrace the use of IT to improve health.”

Personal
Helen lives in her hometown of Moscow, ID with her husband. They have three children, 28, 24, and 22. In her spare time, she enjoys any outdoor, non-motorized activity including river rafting, backpacking, and cycling. Helen has a BSN from Washington State University and earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Washington.
