Professional Background
Evan is Qualis Health’s executive director for communications, where he leads communications strategies for WIREC and other initiatives dedicated to improving healthcare quality and safety. Evan has worked in healthcare communications and program development for over 25 years, including directing the national communications resource center for the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Program from 2002 through 2008.

Motivation
 “My interests in healthcare quality and meaningful use of HIT stem from my commitment to helping improve public health, particularly by engaging patients, families and providers in patient-centered approaches to health and care. I have a particular interest in engaging people around cross-setting continuity of care and effective care transitions.”

Personal
Evan lives with his partner, Joe and their two dogs on Vashon Island, just outside of Seattle, where he loves being an active part of the Vashon community. While he is passionate about healthcare quality, he also has a passion for music, and maintains a second career as a pianist.
